Hello,

I released new real-time global illumination demo Lightsmark 2008.

For lack of time, it has the same content as Lightsmark 2007, but engine is new - nearly 2x faster (500+ average fps not exception), it adds per-pixel indirect shadows and per-pixel color bleeding, Linux versions and native 64bit versions.

Nice. 171.8 at 1680x1050 (X1900XTX), but although fps are high it is stuttering all over the place... Anyone with a 7900GTX can bench to see how visionnary ATI was with heavy ALU workloads? ;)

Haven't done multiple iterations, so the results might vary a bit, but interestingly, in the first run at 602/1458/1107 MHz, I got 555.9 Fps in 16x12, while the second one with the defaults of my GTX280 (700/1404/1107) was actually 1/11th faster at 609.7 Fps.

One would think, all depends on the shaders, but apparently, they matter less than setup/raster/tex/rop in case of the GTX280.

@Stepan:
I am curious: after clicking on the picture for 64 bit mode, there's also drop downs for penumbra quality and light stability which default to "highest supported" - is that the same for all DX10 cards?

edit:
Curiously, Lightsmark 2008 is not pixel bound - at least not very much. At 16x12, I'm getting about 1,2 GPix/s of fill with heavy OC (702/1512/1296), at 25x16 it's up to almost 1,6 GPix/s.(387,9)

I thought I'd try this because I did the 2007 version as well ...

1680x1050: 20.6
1280x1024: 24.4

My mobile 7900GTX got 97.1 at 1680x1050. It's running at 500Mhz compared to the 650Mhz of the desktop version. No stuttering.
