Share price holding (due to buyback program). I guess they would have been profitable if not for the warranty charge, but still down quite a bit from a year ago.

IIRC $192 Million of the Cost of Revenue are just warranty charges, so with those issues they would have been profitable.

It will be interesting to note how much more on charges they will have to cover for the next quarter. With the reduction in price of the GT200 series it is a difficult period for nvidia at the moment, how things have changed around. They say a week is a long time in politics.

Even I, who has had nvidia cards since the old Ati 9800Pro is back to ATi again with the 4850. Sign of the times?

Still that's a pretty hefty swing from the same 3 month period from a year ago. Down 293,661 USD.

I wonder if they'll be able to recover by the holiday season or not. Looks doubtful at this point, but Nvidia has been resilient in the past.

Regards,
SB

I don't know that they will, but it seems that this is really bad timing for them considering Intel wants to get in the game now so they will have some fierce competition with AMD and Intel to fight off.

Of course the other way to look at it is that this will be a wake up call in advance. Honestly though I don't think it is a wake up call like the 9800 was. I just think it is them having trouble.

That was the 9700 ;)

Yeah that was a brainfart. I guess that was b/c I got a 9500pro then a 9800 that was moddable to 9800pro. My 9500 could not do the 9500-->9700

That was fun when you could turn the x800 into x800pe the nvidia 6 series were upgradeable with rivatuner as well.

I found that much more entertaining than overclocking, just flash and viola done.

Yeah, gotta love soft-mods! A buddy of mine picked up one of those oh-so-tasty X800 GTO2's and let me use it for awhile when I was on a craptacular X300 SE. X800 XT PE performance for $125 was ridiculously good value!
