I was taking a look around the Dell Outlet and found a whole bunch of refurbished laptops meeting or exceeding the specs of that laptop Russ quoted earlier for like $650. Has anyone ever bought any refurbished laptops (or anything else) from Dell before? What exactly is their idea of "minor scratches and blemishes"?
I'm a bit hesitant to even try it but I have had positive experiences with refurbished devices in the past, particular with about a half-dozen refurbished motherboards I bought 6 or 7 years ago. Cost me half to less than half as much as the retail boards and they're all still working today (whereas many of the new boards I bought around that time frame are not). Still, I wonder if I just got lucky. Either way Dell carries the same basic warranties on their refurbished laptops as they do on their new ones so I suppose there's a degree of safety there.
