PS3 upscaling to 1080p ?

Got my new PS3 .. not disapointed so far and bought 2 games at the same time. and updated the firmware.

Now i feel like i got a bargain!

to add to Planet Earth, Crank, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2 and The Prestige are some of the best blu-ray movies to date (i own all of them except Potc 2). the Spider-Man movies should also look amazing and come out next month i believe.

Sorry to bring back this thread from the dead, but I was wondering now that the PS3 can play back all sorts of vid formats from your PC if you get the media center stuff set up, does that mean it will actively upscale those vids to 1080p as it does with your DVDs?
