Lets be honest. You pay a lot of money on the basic BF3 game (about 50-60 EUR), which launched with only about 6 maps. Then they expect you quite some money to pay for each map pack containing a few maps (about 15 EUR per pack). Then they expect you to pay for a Premium package to get into the...

Whoohooh! Just got Assassin's Creed: Revelations for 14 EUR from the flash sales. :)

    Diablo III - It's official

My thoughts so far from a European based perspective. It's a nice and very polished game so far. Graphics and physics wise it might be the most excilerating in it's genre, but it's nothing I haven't seen before in other genres. Technically wise it is bad. Servers down. Unable to play because of...

What are you looking forwards to for the rest of 2012?

Yeah, that is one hell of a game I have been waiting for. I sunk alot of time in the original Half Life 1 MOD. Gameplay wise the game is becoming complete. Performance wise they still have a way to go. Performance at the moment is sub-par, which takes away from the fun, but they are improving it...

    Battlefield 3 announced

I think that is quite unfair. CoD is fast but certainly not a random spray fest. It's even worse, for CoD I need skills to get to the number 1 position on the list, while for Operation Metro in 64 player servers I don't. Colleagues of mine said they liked Operation Metro alot and that it...

And if I am not mistaken music for the trailer comes from the excellent anime miniseries Gundam: Unicorn.

And another pet peeve of mine: ability to disable mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration. Even better, they should be off by default.

I recently started buying retail again instead of digital. Not because I like a hard medium, just because the launch prices in retail channels over here can vary from 10 to 20 EUR cheaper than any digital medium. And that's quite steep.

    Far Cry 3 announced

With this game I'll wait until a demo is available. Far Cry 2 was one of the biggest let downs of the past few years. Stopped playing after a few hours, because the enemies were rediculous. They even saw you perfectly as you were hiding in bushes and such.

I feel the same way, but for me it's both iD and Valve games. I just don't get it why there are still companies out there that release FPS games on the PC that seem to have lag in mouse movement and need INI hacks to disable any acceleration and smoothing.

In a perfect world that could be true. But the fact of life is that pricing depends on a lot of factors like average income, culture, competition, taxes, etc.. In the European Union all these factors differ quite a lot per country. Therefore we have regional pricing.

What's wrong about it? I found it a very entertaining game. Not 40 EUR worth of entertainment, but if you get a big discount. You just have to like rollercoaster FPSes ;)

Awesome, especially with the music combined. ;)

    Battlefield 3 announced

About the single player, I like it a lot. It is an acquired taste, since you have to like a roller coaster type of FPS. I happen to like roller coaster type FPSes and open world FPSes. Like Modern Warfare 2 it has a nice story in my opinion, but that is personal taste. Unlike MW2 they do a...

    Battlefield 3 announced

Ofcourse I'm in luck. After a problem free Battlefield 3 beta, the release version crashes on me at random times during the intro logos. In the event viewer I can find something about dxgi.dll being the failing module. Waiting for an EA support rep. [Edited] I found the culprit. Closing down...
