Since I have heard that this can be done. I wonder if you will be able to run linux games or something like WINE to run windows games?
Maybe even some will write custom apps for ps3 linux like video editing software for conversion/compression etc... SInce Cell is so highly touted for this...
I havent read all the posts but i am sure someone has said this.
There is zero reasons for a console game to release with any major game killing bugs. It is a closed hardware platform. Addons are diff like roster updates in sports games. Major bug fixes are unacceptable.
I like the pictures I've seen of the Game Profiler on Vista. I was just wondering if it is operational on the Beta versions that are out? If so how is it? Does it make launching games easier? Any plans on integrating a steam like downloadable games system?
I gotta be honest I feel the exact same way. I just dont have that much time for games I guess. And the free time I do get I play World Of Warcraft. Really I dont see any other game interesting me as much as WOW. The games I am highly interested in are: WOW chich I have. Oblivion, Gothic...
I am really pumped up for the Wii. I just wanted to say that off the bat, but I just keep flipping and flopping between spending a bit mroe for the 360 and getting true next gen tech. Really what I like about Wii initially is backwards compatiblity with all the GameCube games I didnt play...
These are copied and pasted from another forum post I made. But here you go my digital life impressions:
My impressions:
Digital Life was awesome this year. Much better than last year.
You forgot 1 pc game in your review. HellGate London in all its awesomeness. Wonderful play...
You know what bugs me is that there was some good ideas in there somewhere. Digital distributionn being primary of them. If they were'nt so interested in defrauding investors for money they could have actually had a good product.
How about integrating there software and content rights with...
What if AMD said to Nvidia we don't want you to make chipsets for our platform anymore. And Intel did the same.
That would leave nvidia with only being able to make video cards.
Would a move like that be legal?
Thanks.
This comment comes from the fact that Intel announced Q4-06 release dates for their Quad Core processors. Say what you will about Intel's version being a kludge with just 2 conroe's slapped together. It should still be more than enough for physics processing. I really don't see people...
Depending on the size of the game. But you could mostly stream it in sections. I don't see this as a form of playng state of the art, but top quality games could still work.
Yo know phantom had a great idea, execution was the problem. I could invision these type of systems built into hotels and cable boxes etc... Gaming on demand download through steam like service. How about bundling Gametap with something like this.
It could work in the right situations.
Your...
I think it has more to do with everyone wanting to run higher and higher resolutions. If we were still running at 480p then I think we would see bigger jumps in graphics.
I'm thinking a lot of that power is wasted going fo rsuper high resolutions.
I bought a 47" CRT HDTV for $999. CRT's are the best bang for the buck and size. And many can be found for under $1000. However I highly recommend getting DLP or LCD especially for gaming. DLP and LCD have a sharper image and won't look as blurry as a Rear projection crt. Plus you can run a...
Questions isn't the
Intel Pentium D 940 (3.20GHz/2Mx2) $183
Already faster than the Amd X2 3800+?
If the 3800+ is $300 now shouldn't they lower this chip to below the $183 rumored intel price?
Seems to be more than 50% price drop needed.
