Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

My post was supposed to be a response to yours. Somehow I missed quoting you. It was a hectic day. Apologies. Reading some of the the arguments got me thinking of the SC Meta case when reading about this one. The moment when, I believe it was the government attorney, in reply to a question...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

A quick point. The reason the FTC has made this about Sony is because that is how the FTC has chosen to define the market in their argument. Their argument hinges on the likes of PC, Nintendo, etcetera, being a separate market. Only Sony makes the other "high performance console". They are not...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

I somehow missed this. The site is paywalled and a search didn't turn up much. Is this solid info or just a rumor? (I know nothing of the veracity of the site you linked.) Thx in advance,.

Halo Infinite [Fall 2021] [XO, XBSX|S, PC, XGP]

Well. I did love the sound. Thought that was nailed. This has to be a typo. COD single player experience? That should be a joke up there with "I'm from the government. I'm here to help." I bought Modern Warfare and was so excited. They actually have proper modern sights! WooHoo! First COD game...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

I can make no claims to how good a source this is. Slowly getting picked up it seems. Story seems to be from a specialist news site on antitrust law. It is a pay site and I cannot search it for the article. Here is a link to the site: https://mlexmarketinsight.com/ It was apparently posted to...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

Been gone for 9 weeks. Wanted to get my thoughts on this down and answer some questions. Maybe get some questions answered. I will try and not go deeply into legal terms or write this like an official complaint or response. Forgive me if you know the correct terms and I am using layman's...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

I know I am cynical, and that many will disagree with me, but I disagree almost entirely with your assessment. "To be clear, Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles available on PlayStation through the term of any existing agreement with...

I am a little surprised he isn't being more circumspect.

Nadella has chimed in personally. Have to see if he is correct or not.

    Sony Game Studios Acquisitions [2022]

Oh I don't disagree with you in general. Politics can throw a wrench in normal operations. There was a very public discussion last year about "Big Tech" and the companies that were facing scrutiny. Conspicuously absent from that list was Microsoft. A number of people publicly complained about...

Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 Billion on 2023-10-13

Were it not for the new head of the FTC assuming her position the day of this announcement.... I read that previous mergers of this size take about 8-9 months to get approval. So it could happen late this year. Though I think MS stated it expects the deal to close 1st quarter 2023.

    Sony Game Studios Acquisitions [2022]

Unless it turns political and someone wants to make a point. Word came down that the Justice Department will not be involved in this (potential conflict of interest at least), it is going to be the FTC. The new FTC head and the party she works for (Democrats) have made big tech and anti-trust a...
