    PS4 Pro experiences

Thanks! Lol, that is like the best compliment you could have given. It was really tempting to add a bunch of video gamey stuff, like powerups and boosters and whatever, but I decided to really just aim for pure sports style experience, just about you and the ball (and that bastard on the other...

    PS4 Pro experiences

FWIW, we were able to get about a 46% supersample for HoloBall on PS4 Pro, roughly maintaining the same framerate as the normal PS4 (90fps-ish). The effect is subtle, but everything is much crisper and nicer overall.

No impressions yet, but we're expecting our PS4Pro DevKit to arrive today so we can dial in the super-sampling number for HoloBall on PSVR :)

NPD October 2016 Sales Results (As they become available)

I think it's sell like crazy for much longer than 5 weeks. And don't forget, they're going to make a bundle on peripherals with those 3ft long wired controllers, but extension cables, and wireless controllers available. In terms of living off the past, the Switch looks like it's quite relevant...

    Rift, Vive, and Virtual Reality

It's way to early in the lifecycle to write off locomotion as a lost cause. We're just now figuring everything out, and already there are many tricks up the sleeve that can be used to mitigate sickness. We're learning that blocking peripheral vision helps a lot (Eagle's flight) We're learning...

    PS4 Pro Speculation (PS4K NEO Kaio-Ken-Kutaragi-Kaz Neo-san)

Even if you don't have the monitor to display it, a 2x super sample will generally make things look a whole lot nicer.

    Rift, Vive, and Virtual Reality

True... but then when you consider you need 4 AR headsets and each needs it's own PC, then all of a sudden the prospect of just setting up the game on the table becomes a bit more appealing! One day(10+ yrs?), when glasses are super light weight, and it can all be powered off your cell phone...

Also, if you have the horsepower, you can edit the steamvr INI file, and supersample all games. Apparently it works wonders, especially on fixing text and other aliasing issues.

Sounds like TableTop VR is right down your alley :)

    Rift, Vive, and Virtual Reality

Ya it's a good point, but I've demoed it for our 80+ yr old grampa and he loved it. It was just a mountain top scene, and he threw a stick for a dog to fetch. very chill, very relaxed, but he was in awe. Not all the experience are high intensity / rapid movement, in fact I'd say at least 50% of...

    Rift, Vive, and Virtual Reality

We'll be there Day 1 for the Touch launch. We were very pleasantly surprised at the tracking quality of the Touch, was a bit worried about a camera-based solution, but after testing, it's totally on par with the VIVE. One of the cooler discoveries when we got our Touch's, is that SteamVR...

    Rift, Vive, and Virtual Reality

You really have to try room scale. There's much less motion sickness (none at all in the best games), and the sense of immersion is so much higher when have hands, and can stand, duck, spin and sidestep. They are really 2 different mediums. In one, you're playing a traditional game, from a...

The non-standard game interfaces discussion thread (move, voice, vitality, etc.)

Yep great idea. Perfect example of 'mainstream' VR. Why pay $500 for some driving class, when I can pay $5/hr for a virtual instructor? And not only can it train me basics of driving, but it can also present me with much more dangerous scenarios than I would want to encounter in real life, to...

The non-standard game interfaces discussion thread (move, voice, vitality, etc.)

Well.. isolation from one world, and immersion into another. I mean, it's about leaving this boring-ass world, and going to another, more interesting one. Maybe I want to fly like a falcon and hunt prey. Or be Superman, flying around Manhattan. Or maybe, experience life as a tiny ant, trying to...

The non-standard game interfaces discussion thread (move, voice, vitality, etc.)

Think no further than the Superbowl 52, UFC220 or World Cup 2018. Front row seat: $20. Watch from the comfort of your own home. Full 3d immersion, if you room-scale you can even walk out onto the field a few steps... Once people try this shit, they will be lining up around the corner. There's...
