5870 seems to be faster than the GTX295 in the graphs. Why would Ati be in trouble? Given these premature numbers I'd say that nvidia is in trouble even if they bring GT300 early.

I think I'll go for a 5870.First indications suggest a big performance leap but I'm more interested in the new rumored features its supposed to bring.

Wont it be easier for ATI to move to 40nm since their chips are quite smaller than Nvidias monster chips?

If we can make any asumptions from the r350 release its seems that ATi might have a problem clocking the memory too high(r300=310,r350=340)or maybe they thought they had enough bandwidth. :?:

According to Anands latest benchmarks(Quake3,UT2003,JKII 4xfsaa/8xQaniso) Radeon 9800pro is about 15% faster than Radeon 9700pro. :wink:

FX5600=80mil trans. RV350=75mil trans.

Dave,what about the memory clock?

Isn't radeon 9600 pro using 700Mhz capable memory chips? They could have gone for a 450/700 config.

I wonder why Ati went so conservative with the radeon 9600pro clocks!! :?
