Endless Space looks pretty nifty. But I can't tell from the reviews... did the expansion (err, "paid patch") eventually get less buggy than the original? Which should I buy?

gotta say, super whatever football is brilliant. got it the day it came out for ipad and it has become my table of choice. i hope they can continue to produce these sort of original game-hybrids in the future. this is what digital pinball should be about imo.

i can definitely see the point about the design work. it's a huge improvement. tbh da2 had a lot of these stylstic improvements, but the hollowness of the rest of the changes made them seem that much more "put a fresh coat of paint and noone will notice". sure, da is and always has been more...

yep, SD is a little incomplete but still waaaayyyy above average. sadly, work has got me pinned atm so i'm only finding time for Top Eleven (non-fifa-licensed manager browser game). ^^; it's not perfect but it reminds me to take breaks.

there is really no question that DA3 will not approach skyrim quality graphics, especially as it is a very multi-platform game. if it somehow ends up not looking like ass entirely then it will be a huge step forward for the DA technical team. luckily, graphics were never the draw. hopefully...

King of Dragon Pass is a really unique game. HIghly recommended to anyone into old school PC strategy/RPG games. It's got the back end of an early Koei game with the front end of an interactive fiction title.

yeah i appreciate Cyan's enthusiasm but I keep thinking, surely there is a Might n Magic thread already..? otoh it's the only thread i follow on b3d which is currently active... so actually it's kind of adorable to see him gush over an ancient game... ^^

if you're into long range archery or planning sneak attacks on forts and such I think that ugridstoload is the single most important tweak you can make. it will limit a LOT of what you can do wrt shadows and anything cpu-intensive. however it is cool as hell. set at 5, it is unavoidable that...

i used realistic lighting. not sure if it's outmoded by now or what. i highly recommend trying one mod at a time, btw. just, each play session, pick one thing that looks ugly, and find a popular mod that addresses it in a way you find attractive. obvs you want to shy away from unusual mods...

this has been mentioned already, and so i will also chirp in to say i played with ugrids at 7 for the entirety of my play time without troubles. it makes a huge, huge difference, too esp if you use archery. it does limit some of my other aggressive shadowing etc settings, but i think it's well...

nah, it's just plain long. i liked the game a lot and thought it was a pretty solid arpg, better than most of the others. but it feels long and isnt worth finishing. the grindiness of the content is just boring after awhile. totally worth it for the first 15 hrs or so tho, imo.
