  1. OlegSH replied to the thread GART: Games and Applications using RayTracing.

[MEDIA] Please watch the video. 6800 XT can't be CPU limited at 110 FPS in 1440p and then all of a sudden became CPU limited at ~80 FPS...

  2. OlegSH replied to the thread GART: Games and Applications using RayTracing.

RX 6800 XT has 110 AVG FPS in 1440p + RT, so no CPU limitation in 4K at least for AMD GPUs. Moreover, SAM is all about pushing latency...

  3. OlegSH replied to the thread Optimizations of PC Titles *spawn*.

[MEDIA] Hey, it seems RDNA2 finally shows its true power in Ray Tracing. And look at the SAM gains! Thanks for optimizations, AMD. Hell,...

Which is even more reason to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later. Why wait when we don’t know what we’re waiting for. I hope...

That’s a good way to put it. I think we’re already at the point where there’s no better use for those transistors. Mesh shaders address...

Difficult to believe this statement. For example blender in benchmark below is 3080 11.9s versus 2080ti 19.9s or 2080 super 26.1s. Pure...

I have both 3080 and 6800xt right now. I think that the DXR on BF V is broken on AMD side. Ultra settings and ultra raytrace reflections..

The DirectX ray tracing apis are really simple so inherently very portable. It’s basically buildBVH() and castRays(). All the...

Plus when you are two years late in the RT gaming market (rtx2080 released in sept 2018), you can't really blame devs for working with...

Or simply bugged AMD drivers, which CD Project didn't have time to debug for since the cards were just released?

Everything can be "faked" pretty well with just textures, just bake everything and keep it as compressed video - job is done:roll:

That's certainly an API issue, for sure. AMD had just 3 years to write a driver for it, after all, an unimaginable thing to accomplish...

Even AMD said before release that any DXR title should run. It's not, so I guess drivers are not on point yet. Nothing more. No reason...
