    Hardware details about Adreno 740

I can't see a video for some reason, but obviously I can't give any input here in my position either way. You could estimate the ALU growth by die shot comparison, and you also see the exposed "core count" in OpenCL info such as OpenCL-Z along with the GFlops measured as well as frequency from...

Apple is an existential threat to the PC

Complete utter nonsense. In idle, Intel is burning anywhere from 3-4W more on the 6+8 compared to an M Pro (double the memory width & BW!), add in another watt delta to a regular M part. The ADL 2+8 die is literally faster than the comparative 4+8 (cut 6+8 die) at the same power because how how...

Architecture and Products - read-only: temporary or permanent?

I don't know what even prompted the lock as I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. My 2 cents is that over the last 22 years of reading this forum the only thing that really changed is that over the past decade is that there's simply more people on the internet who will engage in...

AMD RX 7900XTX and RX 7900XT Reviews

Ah, I was going through the slides too fast and was referring to this and thought that was quoted; https://images.anandtech.com/galleries/8220/AMD%20CES%202023%20Client%20Processors%20Press%20Deck%20Revised_11.png

AMD RX 7900XTX and RX 7900XT Reviews

that's a CPU perf uplift on the same 6850M GPU the iGPU looks like an utter failure of an uplift

    Power consumption for GPUs

This is also just wrong ... any difference above tweet is simply mismatching samples rates or simply insertion loss of the cheap PMD.

    Power consumption for GPUs

What does the software reporting (which is accurate) have anything to do with this? AMD lets you set 115% power limit on a 355W card. Besides the talked about cards few posts ago had 3 power connectors, only the reference has 2, and they're running >355W out of box. The 150W limit is just for...

    Power consumption for GPUs

Uh no, it's not. It goes to 417W just fine, with 55W of that on the slot. It's limited beyond that on the reference cards because of the software lock that we can't change the PL beyond 115%.

    Power consumption for GPUs

This is not a blanket rule for all AMD cards. The software reading is accurate on these cards.

The impact of content farming on product analysis

The fact that people are fooled by these pieces of shit and defending them is just amazing. The old "i work at a shop" explanation is literally a meme by now because that's what half of these channels have in their About pages. Take this for example: His 7900XTX frequency overlay random...

The impact of content farming on product analysis

That's not how any of this works. They're almost all exclusively trash fake videos in content farms. You prove to me a video that's linked is a real channel with a named human person behind them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD3fjq9IGsyMY5BbSRcwhAg/videos...

The impact of content farming on product analysis

Can we stop posting garbage YouTube benchmark videos? 99% of these channels are fake content farms in an office in India where they found out a different revenue stream vs call scamming.

    AMD RDNA3 Specifications Discussion Thread

There differences are minor, it's all microarchitecture/implementation disadvantage.

    Power consumption for GPUs

Granted I didn't test a 6950XT, this isn't really what I determined on all other AMD cards I tested. Wouldn't surprise me if it's just something that's vendor card specific. Not to mention the card he covers is beyond the AMD spec so that 335W TGP doesn't even apply. Compare the reference card...
