Playing at 5920x1080 i have many games to completely use up all the 4 GIGs of my R290.
The last one is been playing doing this were Star Point Gemini, Skyrim (yeah texture mods), Star Citizen but there are many more.
That kid on hardwareluxx just overclocked it to 1.4ghz. :D
Unbelievable what some people do just to get a little attention.
Even funnier that the mods there let him post his crap.
PSP is my Dreamhandheld. This is with Homebrew ofc (I don't talk about ISOs here).
The hardware is fantastic it's not too big and it's not too heavy.
To me the only downside of the PSP is the price and the fact that there is no final fantasy or gran turismo available yet. :D
Computerisation is a nice thing. 150k € Merceds stop the engine on the highway because of electrosmog. No joke!
The more technical gimmics the better for the the machanics. You just pay and pay.
Isn't Cell based on RISC architecture? I think it is. If i am right then i'd se it wont be seen in ay PC for desktop usage anytime soon.
It might be used in some workstations though where it's potential can be used.
I'm not sure if the currently used DDR2 has anything to do wich the memory nvidia used on the 5800's.
Actually ATI never used GDDRII on the 9800 PRO afaik.
Nvidia used a sort of GDDR2 that was not JEDEC approved at all. It was some unique memory just for that card.
I don't think the DDR2...
Somehow i can't believe that since the Turion is supposed to run at 20 Watts max.
Then again i don't know how much power a winnie would draw at a vcore of 1.2volts or even less.
If it's cherry-picked or not doesn't matter anyways. It's in the Pentium M league finally and that's what counts.
I don't know about prices yet but if you compare an AMD SLI board to the even most generic crap intel board then the SLI boards is still cheaper.
Question is how much does nvidia have to pay for the licence.
I've lost 2 PSU's within the last year.
The 1st one was a generic 350W PSU.
A PX 2500+@ 2.45ghz and 1,85vcore.
Exchanged the 9700PRO@ 9800 PRO for a x800 XT PE.
The PSU went with a loud bang. Nothing else harmed though. Death because of overload obviously.
2nd PSU was a Enermax 431W PSU...
I don't expect any games that make good usage of SM3.0 before end 2006 (GOOD usage, not just implementing some basic SM3 stuff).
Talking about SM4 allready is insane!
Just look how long the game developer took to make good usuage of SM2.0!
Since i'm not from the US i can't help you with a linkt to a special model but if your wife is no gamer (wich is most likely) you should've no problem to get a decent laptop. The graphics cards make them expensive.
For 1000 bucks you should be able to buy a decent Centrino Notebook.
Just...
My system killed a 431w Enermax with 20A on the 12V rail.
Went perfectly fine until i raised the ULTRA from 450 to 470mhz. That was just too much for the PSU. The OCZ Powerstream 520 is doing great with that clocks.
(Having tons of stuff like kathodes and crap hooked up on the PSU tho)
