Well to start with the PS3 is putting out an HDCP encrypted signal so your monitor is probably throwing a fit about that rather than the resolution. I don't think the FP71E+ supports HDCP.

It's not something that's relevant to PlayTV. Even amongst the UK HD trials, there were no MPEG2 streams, everything was H.264. There simply isn't the bandwidth for it. I'm not aware of any other countries doing over-the-air HD content in MPEG2 but I'm willing to be corrected on that one. PlayTV...

A single cooling solution? I guess it's just poorly worded in the original article (which isn't surprising since it's a blog). That it's [implied to be] still very early in the development stage, it probably is a combined 45nm project. At 65nm it doesn't sound like a cost reduction act.

My display is 1920x1200 and has 1:1 pixel mapping, maintain aspect ratio, and stretch options for 720p and 1080p signals. The pictures was taken with 1:1 pixel mapping, so it was effectively native 1280x720.
