As far as soundcard goes, I use a TB Montego DDL.......Dolby Digital Live*, and it's absolutely excellent for a HTPC. You can find the same card under the Diamond brand - Xtreme Sound 7.1 DDL - for less than $50 US. While it's not a great gaming card, it's a excellent low cost card for a HTPC...

Maybe more than just a cheap videocard..........but far less than any other upgrade. Guess I'm lucky - or just plain foolish - to have an XBox 360 and 2 high end gaming computers*!;) I still can't decide of wether to go PC or XBox 360 for this game...... *X1800XT and 7800GT Sli systems!

Be real careful here...If you want a quiet HTPC, stay away from this motherboard. The chipset fan is located in a very cramped place - ie. it cannot be replaced - and is very noisy.
