I'm in on the beta now (must be a heavy PSN user, not sure in what way) and I must say it is all very bland: limited costumes, limited furniture, limited areas.

Sony won't charge fees for the service, it'll just be an extra $X on the game. The 'casual online' market will soak it up and fund the hardcore (think of the 'bell' curve).

Just completed this. This is GOTY without a doubt, I don't know why (or how) anyone in the media can suggest otherwise. The graphics are simply stunning, and while the game isn't especially challenging due to IMO the seamless loading/saving, when combined with the story it is an outstanding...

This begs the question that I have asked before. Why, if the SCC is present, are there separate controllers for SATA, USB, .... ? Also, the SCC was also designed to perform video scaling, why is it not used either?

By the sounds of it, they started development before the PS3 was the designated third horse. They haven't ruined the game, it just doesn't run quite so well. Also, if what nAo etc. have said, targeting for the PS3 should mean good performance on the 360.
