4k performance even better than expected.
The price sucks but if that performance is upheld in independent reviews, kinda wished I had preordered the 2080Ti. That way I can game at 4k while everyone else bickers about the price/value.
This a link to a G5/Opteron shootout:

Two of the four graphs were of the same result, shown differently. The author admits the 64-bit architecture of the Opteron was not taken advantage of, whereas the multimedia benches run were G5 optimized.

I'm surprised no one stated the obvious...the perfect accelerator is one that renders without that annoying artificial fog to hide the back clipping plane. It's everywhere....whether it be role playing games or flight simulators, almost anything rendered in 3D. And usually its only purpose is...
And the point is? A Geforce2 MX 200 suffers considerably against a Geforce DDR. You need to factor that in as well.
What does transistor count have to do anything? A crippled pipeline/core will always yeild lesser transistos. Then again, you did post a while back that the GF4 Ti4600 didn't...
Maybe you should brush up on your reading comprehension  This is the flawed perception: "Ask any game developer or publisher if the GeForce naming scheme is "pointless." "
So you see no fault with that statement?
And so you still did not get the point...it's more above your head...
I can see a large difference in dot 3 in every game, but not EMBM, at least for the few games I have. Battlezone II looks practically identical with/without EMBM. The only noticeable difference I see is when staring at scrap shards up close, which anyone who owns the game knows is an action...
You didn't read my post did you? Trying to reverse a flawed perception is an exercise of ignorance itself. How about I find positive statements about the Voodoo naming schemes? Or the TnT, or the Radeon, or the Kyro? You get the point or is too obviously far beyond your grasp?
It's like the...
Don't tell me you're that dense Joe, that you can't see the simple flaw behind "Ask any game developer or publisher if the GeForce naming scheme is "pointless."
Of course, that's not surprising from someone like you who's heavy into conspiracy issues, whether it be Anandtech's Unreal...
No, it's not a blanket statement. It's an opinion. "Ask any game developer or publisher if the GeForce naming scheme is "pointless." "....Now THAT's a blanket statement
From one company? That doesn't quite support your statement above
Carmack was also extremely disappointed...
Goto to Millberg's main site http://www.milberg.com and read the number of class action lawsuites they have filed, it is almost ridiculous. They have even filed a class action lawsuit against K-mart for failing to cover prescription contraceptives. ("The complaint, filed in the Northern...
You know what's funny Doomtrooper, I did a background check on Millberg Weiss to confirm the names of other companies they had filed class action lawsuits against....and look what I found

The GF4 has the improved crossbar memory system, Quincunx plus the new Accuview engine, and nview. It's more than a GF2, but not a full blown GF4. Arguing about the naming scheme is pointless.
