    Haswell vs Kaveri

The HD 7770 being with ~5% less bandwidth.

How will this translate into performance?

Doesn't the T unit works too with the others? My understanding was that it was capable of doing both normal work and some other, more complex stuff. Well, it also has only 25% more BW, so.. Well, it seems to me a really awesome chip, although the naming is a bit tricky, me thinks.

AMD: Sea Islands R1100 (8*** series) Speculation/ Rumour Thread

Why? Genuinely curious here about the difference between HPL and HP (it is related to the process, isn't it?)

    Haswell vs Kaveri

Is that a mobile CPU? Well, I'm finally considering getting a laptop without discrete GPU. I hope Kaveri narrows the CPU gap and widens the GPU one, that would be even more awesome.

How the hell did you find this topic?

    NVIDIA Kepler speculation thread

There is none. But ffs stop using Steam Survey. It is a mess of numbers that would never make sense in real world (with real consumers). And no, I am not saying anyone is not outselling anyone.

    NVIDIA Kepler speculation thread

If GPU A has twice the perf/watt than B, than, at any given targeted power consumption (it may be a little simplistic), A is going to be twice as fast as B. In this case, 100W. Although I think this case resumes to how each manufacturer measures their own TDP. Point in case: the HD 7970 has...

AMD: Southern Islands (7*** series) Speculation/ Rumour Thread

Voltage seems way too high and measuring methods are debatable at best. I will wait for TPU's and hardware.fr measuring

    Trinity vs Ivy Bridge

Had Trinity this memory subsystem results: http://vr-zone.com/articles/amd-trinity-a10-4600m-apu-review-jumping-the-shark-/15830-5.html Would it help in graphics workloads, or is it just valid for CPU performance purposes?

    Trinity vs Ivy Bridge

Looking specifically at the Civilization V gaming performance, am I right assuming that Trinity's GPU is severally starved by memory bandwidth? Look, the only game that it is quite ahead is the game that uses some kind of texture compression mechanism, which in turn is much faster even on Llano...

    NVIDIA Kepler speculation thread

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5818/nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-review-feat-evga/18 Any logical explanation to why increasing it's maximum power target significantly increases it's power consumption but doesn't do jack to it's performance? I don't know why neither how, but it increases a lot...

Nvidia BigK GK110 Kepler Speculation Thread

I think what he says is that there is no "polymorph engine", it is just that they put some stuff that weren't part of anything inside a box in the slides and called it a day.

Why Barts is really VLIW4, not VLIW5 (and more on HD 5830/6790 being mainly 128-bit)

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it all about shader utilization? I did some calculations when the HD 7750 came out, and it turned out that it had like, 35% more performance per shader per clock than the HD 7950, which in turn is faster per shader per clock than the HD 7970 (looking at...
