    GDDR4 ships for testing

That memory bus is being put to good use as some crazy over-clockers managed to get a r520 to over 1GHz.The link is on ATIs front page.

    G70 Vs X1800 Efficiency

If NV adds better dynamic branching performance and HDR+AA to compete with ATI wont that eat allot of the extra die space. I can't see NV adding any extra pipes or having a 24pipe G70 90nm running at 550 or 600 Mhz.

Can someone tell me why ATI's PS 3.0 is better than Nvidia's?

Dynamic branching seems to be allot better that could make a big difference on future games.

ATI's "Toy Shop" Demo is jaw-dropping

Ya...I meant to put a smiley face after that sentence.

ATI's "Toy Shop" Demo is jaw-dropping

It would be awesome to run this demo in real time and to have the ability to zoom and move around. Do you think it could run on a X800 XTPE.

ATI changes warranty to 1 yr

I don't see what the big deal is most electronics only have a 1 year warranty anyways. Big screen TVs that are more expensive and complicated only come with a 1 year warranty. My VISA extends manufactures warranties by one year, a two year warranty is more than enough for a video card.

When Tuesday does the G70 NDA expire?

I read that Nvidia off loads vertex work to the CPU when the GPU is busy. Could this account for the relatively large differences in performance with faster CPUs?

    ATI 'Crossfire' practical issues

Maybe the slave card in that situation won't do any shading work at all and only assists in AA or z-only pass for stencil shadowing.

    ATI 'Crossfire' practical issues

Is it possible to have one card working on SM3.0 code and have the other card thats not capable of SM3.0 working on something else?

    R520 launch delayed?

If theres no pressure to release a new product right away why should they. Its not like Nvidia has something new coming out next month anyways. Maybe they decided to go for another re-spin to work out any bugs and increase yields.

    nVidia adopting 3Dc?

So I guess Futuremark will be adding 3Dc support then. :)

ATI Fast14 tech? What difference can it make?

The NV40 might be on more layers than the R420 which would also account for the die area not being that much more.

Wow! Check out this SUPER-Enthusiast ATI mobo by Sapphire

Technically all things being equal copper has better heat conductivity than aluminum. What you are describing are differences in design that make that particular aluminum heat pipe better.

    ATI Multi-VPU up and running. . .

The fact that it says "Currently assumes" identical graphics cards mean that in the future it might be able to work with different cards. It is software based so initially it could just be a software limitation.
