Remote game services (OnLive, Gaikai, etc.)

Here is excerpts from Rock Paper Shotgun review. They said it was okay. They tested during UK launch, which did have high loads, but OnLive has been adding more servers constantly for added capacity so issues that were during launch should die down soon.

It seems that are really trying to expand there userbase. Subscribers to the playpack ($9.99 a month) get 30% of all titles including promotions, pre-orders, etc (except for Playpack itself of course). http://www.onlive.com/games/playpack#&tab=top_games&sortby=alpha They just need more...

Atomontage Engine - The Future Is Volumetric, Atom-Based

I would love to see when they release the SDK for this. Their website is more down to earth than that Unlimited Detail site. Also, the videos are more revealing. It seems to be a hybrid engine (voxel and polygonal) and much farther along than what the other comapny is claiming...

Gaikai works very well, and the graphics look crisp and the framerate was smooth for the most part even though games ran in a window (1024x768). I played Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2, The Sims 3, but I didn't get much chance to play Spore. They have surveys that you take which are pretty telling...

Well, HTC bought Saffron Digital, which specializes in multimedia delivery to mobile devices, so i think they are going to help OnLive to reliably stream media to smartphones.
