    Intel Yorkfield (45nm) Realtime RayTraces @ 90fps!

well, while the comparison is not fair, it's still correct. realtime raytracing went a long way those last years, and evolved rapitly, to be by today capable to handle certain scenes good enough for gaming ("good enough", i can imagine the flames and re-interpretations). what i am impressed...

Will Direct3D 10 ever come to Windows XP?

Most of the useful features in dx10 are about the behind the scenes memory management and threading management requirements etc, and those only work at all with the new driver model of vista in a useful way (means performance enhancing, etc..). so a port to win xp would be essentially useless...

Which University has contributed to 3D technology the most?

Do non-american universities count? I like the work of the university in saarbruecken, germany OpenRT.de Publications of the University of Saarbruecken, Germany and there is much more about raytracing from this university..

Turtle rape video! OMG!! N really WFS lol

yep. turtle males are all perverts, they rape everything. we had one, and had to put him away of our females, as he just can not let go. and the noise he made was very loud... :) that much for "they can't make noises"

    Cool Interview: PS3 Flow

It's a nice and dandy game and will be for ps3, too (except, as stated, if they mess up) btw, everyone can play it right here: http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/ it's just that, nice and dandy. but everywhere where i read those interviews and all it's stated sort of as the holy...

    Vista Upgrade to different partition?

just install your vista without key.... and then update the vista installation with your key.. (this is documented on the web widely and legal if you have a previous os). that way you can install it where ever you want, completely clean.

    Cool Interview: PS3 Flow

sorry, but what is all the fuzz about that game? it's nice and all.. for a flashgame.. for some minutes.. but i don't get why it's that huge next big wonder that changes everything?! it's not breathtaking, not as a game, nor as art. it's a nice flashgame, and thats it. i smell hype..

    Firefox behaving very badly...

This is something that scares me. Firefox is the only thing I've seen yet, that freezes, and it's not possible then to kill the process then from task manager, or process explorer. Anyone know how to kill that thread then? I can't even reboot the system then, because it waits for the process to...

HDR and morons ( not 3d related )

HDR currently is (wrongly) used for 2 different things, depending on context. Computer graphics and nerds, and games, etc use it for the right things, when the color data is bigger than the display, and there is some tone mapping or hdr-display needed to show the image. It is used there as well...

New Skate Character Models...what uncanny valley??

well, they have to look real to get close to the uncanny valley.. they are too off for me to get to that valley.. but they're close (they look simply too unnatural to me to like them.. neither as zombies nor as humans :D) a prime example how style can help fighting the uncanny valley is...
