The problem with these results is that they tested zero esports titles with 300+ fps. To me the potential difference in very high fps cases is the most interesting aspect, but it's purely in the realm of speculation and assumptions now. Concrete data would be welcomed. It would be good to see a...
What is this nonsense. Vsync causes HUGE input lag problems. I can't play any fast paced games with vsync, the experience is just horrible, it takes all the joy away.
Where dies this argument come from? nVidia has had big cards like that which are used for both consumers and professionals for a long time Why would this be any different?
Good PC's were running Oblivion with way better graphical settings - espercially with mods and .ini-editing - than any of the consoles did. Huge differences.
Also, when comparing how GTV IV etc. ran on computers and consoles, one really should look at how similiar games performed on PC. GTA...
Efficiency and subjectibe experience would go through the toilet with traditional crossfire-GPU for graphics, but what about dedicated GPGPU? I recall either Crytek or Epic was pushing for heavy GPGPU-capabilities for next gen consoles in an interview regarding next gen.
This matches pretty well with the 3 dsp information.
1) HW audiovisual acceleration
2) HW scaler (and something more?)
3) HW Kinect computation acceleration
4) for the extra mystery sauce, edram/esram.
Those 3 PPC-cores for backward compatability, if they're in the final design, could be...

That's the worst thing you could put in a console...
Why are any of you thinking whether this is made up comment / hallucination or not? There is no way that Wii U GPU could have less shaders than PS3/XB360-GPU's. No way at all, even some random integrated GPU's have more shaders and being a modern design with less shaders just isn't happening...
9th of January seems to be wrong, unless reviewers usually have over 3½ weeks of time to do the reviewing. :)
EDIT: obviously wrong month in the original post.
Oh, hail the new King, baby! If this trend continues, my room temperature might finally be well under 30'c in summer. They've made some better engineering decisions like nVidia with GT200's low idle power?
