That's quite impressive. My PC alone takes 210W from the wall without LCD and I only have 3GHz C2D + X1950Pro (no OC) with a high efficiency PSU (hitting 85% around this wattage).

How are you testing your upload? Is there even a reliable way to test p2p performance?

Probably not dual channel being disabled, 3.8GB/s > DDR400 single channel bandwidth (3.2GB/s). Chipset drivers, BIOS, etc?

I don't think I agree with getting a new card worth the original price of the RMA'd is right. The customer should get the same or equivalent/better card. A made up example: Should a customer RMAing a year old $200 card (now sells for $100) get a new $200 card? I don't think so.

Also make sure the monitor takes all the common 720p, 1080i and 1080p as inputs.

If the panel is physically 16:9 (as the plasmas are) then it really is 16:9 and not 4:3 no matter what the resolution is. Using a 1024x768 16:9 panel with 720p simply looses a bit of the horizontal resolution.

Are you sure? I'd think it would scale before the DAC.

Maybe the GameOS with its own little SPU could do the scaling behind the back of the game?

Do you have a DVI input monitor without HDCP? I'd love to get confirmation on the issue of playing games on a non-HDCP monitor.

Ah, the original comment was talking about PCM. 5.1 through S/PDIF is achieved by DD or DTS compression.

It is only S/PDIF I believe and that restricts it to 2 channel PCM.

I don't think the clockspeed alone (10% only) could account for a huge difference in heat output, but being able to run the chip at a lower voltage certainly can.
