Does Sony have what it takes to turn the tide of public opinion?

SCE Worldwide Studios President Phil Harrison has admitted that Sony needs to be more open about its PlayStation road map, and that when examining product lines the company would benefit from some more experimentation. He also talked a bit more about his GDC keynote.

I'm not surprised. No splitscreen and lack of other modes must've contributed to this.

So what happens now? Why is it that they are taking away the hardware for BC? Is it because they've got a proper scaler chip included? And what about the sound outputs?

Dumbing down the engine would gain complaints from both Tekken and VF fans.

I think the controls from both sides don't need to be changed. At all. All they need to do is tweak the juggling and throw systems. VF5's flash was a big step up, so if they leave VF attack properties and tekken properties as they are, it'll be all good. I thinkit could be done if Tekken was...
