mario galaxy reviews = action plan to purchase

Currently, according to www.gamerankings.com, it is the highest rated game *ever*. Edit: Strike that, it's now slightly below Zelda at rank #2. Could move back up anytime, though :-)

Edge gave it 10/10. That doesn't happen every day...

    Japan Sales Thread *renamed

According to http://mmopub.com/2007/05/16/japans-mario-sales-throughout-the-ages/ Super Mario Sunshine only sold 871.250 units in Japan during its lifetime. So 300.000 in the first week is not too bad in comparison, if sales don't drop too sharply. OTOH, Mario Galaxy looks like it's a...

    Capcom: Treasure Island Z

Sales could be better, it's only at place 29 in Japan. That should be around 5000 units in its first week. I hope it does better in the west, I really loved all the Gobliiins games...

NPD Software sales from a Nintendo presentation

So you believe that non-casual non-kiddie games only sell on the Wii when they are already 3 years old? If publishers see that old, but quality games sell reasonable well, why wouldn't they put new quality game on the platform to generate even more sales? Do you think that if RE4 would be...

NPD Software sales from a Nintendo presentation

I'm not sure what that remark is about, either make a counter-argument or leave it... Incidentally, does anyone know how many copies RE4 sold on PS2 or GC?

NPD Software sales from a Nintendo presentation

Incidentally, Capcom just released a press release that RE4 Wii shipped a million units. If a game in its third release (after PS2 and GCN) can do that, other publishers should be able to achieve that as well...

    Puzzle Design

I guess in bloxorz case, a level can be divided into primitives, each primitive allowing the player to accomplish certain maneuvers. This probably needs a few weeks of brainpower, but a systematic approach can certainly make things easier.

    State machines.

A Turing machine can have more than one state (I'm surprised noone caught this before me... :-) ). Although I guess you can get by with only one state by extending the alphabet it uses.

    Microsoft Surface

Since it's kinda ontopic... I recently developed a little game for a multitouch table as part of my diploma thesis. It's basically a multi-user Lemmings clone. People are having a lot of fun with it, and I believe that multi-touch has the chance to make interactions much more natural than they...

    Nintendo Media Summit: Reggie Speaks

Integrating an absolute pointing device into a non-rail shooter hasn't been done before the Wii, or has it?

Wii Sales: Less Than Meets the Eye

Wasn't there a Nintendo press release stating an attachment rate of about 5:1? Even if you discount Wii Sports and Wii Play, 3:1 still ain't too shabby...

    First 360 in-game Command & Conquer 3 Footage

May I ask how the controls actually work? Is there a crosshair you can move with the analog stick? What do the buttons do?
