    B3D skin SLOW

Agreed. ~30 second timeout on www2.techreport.com before any content is displayed. Luckily I have my hosts-file handy for blackholing.

    Volume Decals demo

Aye, the computer stays on unless updates force a reboot. Seems to be the cause since all the demos work now (incl. previous downloads that didn't before) with an uptime of a few days. Will have to wait a couple of weeks to verify the fix ;)

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising (X360,PS3,PC)

Normal campaign completed in four hours and 36 minutes (mission time, add on two-three hours for me getting instakilled and failing to have followed the predefined checkpoint routes). Disappointingly short, and I like to take it slow so a speedrun would be a lot shorter. Replay value is still...

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising (X360,PS3,PC)

I never played the original, but was a fan of the Delta Force franchise, and I'm liking DR. Nice scenery, decent enough controls, interesting missions and good gameplay. I'm playing in normal (easiest mode) and the only annoyances I've found are that ammo and checkpoints can only be found on...

    Volume Decals demo

Q6600 and 8800GTS640. Windows 7 final RC, so might be a beta software issue. Setting affinity didn't help. Video

    Volume Decals demo

Camera movement is glitched on my machine. Seems like the movement vector is inverted every n steps causing a back and forward movement (slightly skewed forward). Happens in all directions and regardless of framerate or if I tap or hold the key. Might be due to a too large collision...

3 petite girl singers, putting men to shame

Kittie has some decent material, although their sound isn't quite as polished as I'd like it to be. I can't be bothered with standard growling, but the contrast of a girl singing and growling is nice.

    Dollhouse

Decent enough, but didn't awe me. Generic agent/pretender plot with The Island scenes mixed in. Really didn't like her braindead dollface expression. Some of the side characters seemed interesting enough, though.

What are you playing now? [2007-2018]

Just finished Mirror's Edge (PC) on hard without killing anyone. Awesome game, like Portal but with prettier levels and no portals ;) Too bad you have to play it on normal first. The runner's vision ruins half the fun and I used the goal-finder (alt-button) way too much which ruined another...

AMD polls gamers on stereoscopic 3D gaming

I can't see goggles ever making a comeback. Parallax barriers and lenticular lenses seem to be getting there, though. Seeing my first 8-view lenticular lensed display a few weeks back was delectable. I'd buy a screen with a switchable parallax barrier straight away if I could get my hands...

Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece of Heaven I can't get enough of macabre show tunes ;)

    How fast can you type?

116.49 wpm, 491.54 cpm, ~3 mistakes, third try. I'm sure I could get it over 500 cpm if I could be bothered to try a few more times. All that time ircing is at last good for something ;) Edit: 120.89 wpm, 516 cpm :)
