    AMD: R7xx Speculation

No Fudo, CPU vendors just don't publically announce half-node lithographic shrinks on their products. In fact, video ASIC sellers are virtually alone in the industry in doing so.

    FF13 Exclusivity still being discussed?

That really may not matter as much as you think it does; Japan isn't the only place FF is sold. Final Fantasy X, for example, sold more copies in the US alone than in it did in Japan, so it's not entirely unreasonable to assume that international sales account for around 65-75% of FF's revenues.

    Star Ocean: The Second Story

Given how SO3 ended, I would be willing to bet that the series has more or less come to a close.

    N-Gage: where to find info?

The Mattel Intellivision had a 10 bit word size. But the ARM9 core in the N-Gage is most certainly a 32 bit CPU.

GDC: AMD to bring 360 tech to handhelds

OpenGL and OpenVG are just software interfaces between the application and the hardware (or driver); they aren't really "wasteful" in any meaningful sense. There's no "OpenGL" silicon or "Direct3D" silicon.

    Quick render target Qs

Concerning automated mipmap generation and XNA, here's a post on MSDN explaining MS's (not entirely satisfying) position from an XNA Framework developer.

Why not let PowerVR build RSX?

Wasn't CLX2 the processor used in the Naomi 2 arcade board? http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=725

[news] NVIDIA eDRAM and Sony PSP2?

The original Game Boy was the exception; both of its successors, the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance, only had an effective life span of about three or four years as Nintendo's flagship handheld. As for non-Nintendo platforms, neither the Game Gear, Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket (Mono or Color)...

    Speculate Wii's BOM

Virtually every car stereo made in the late 80's/90's had that type of CD drive.

    GPU from Korea!!!

It's implemented using a 180nm litho. process, so using modern technology it might be reasonably small enough for the phone market, assuming this is aimed at commercial applications (which it may not be).

What Europeans think about one another...

The point of contention was that the current inhabitants of Macedonia, descendents of Slavs who settled in that region in the Eighth and Ninth Centuries AD, were appropriating symbols (such as the Star of Vergina) of the ancient Macedonians who were a Hellenic/Illyrian people (i.e. not Slavic)...

Microsoft going high schools to preach about XBOX 360

The absolute lack of any sort of situational detail, such as the name of the school, the name of the tester, the reason as to why the school allowed a random MS employee to advertise their wares during school hours strongly tips me in the direction of "fake." There's also no mention of the...

    demos for 8800gtx

Pardon my ignorance, but couldn't Nvidia produce a Windows XP demo using OpenGL, where it's already exposed much of the equivalent "Direct3D 10" functionality through extensions?

    XNA Beta 2 Released

Oh, now this is lovely. Not only do Beta 1 apps not compile under Beta 2 but they also do not even open in the friggin IDE. Sweet, MS.
