Proelite you post some strange things.

If you're suggesting the devkits have the AMD equivalent of the GTX680 in them, then that's the 7970, which is 3.7 TF....

But then you post this and I don't know what to think...

The gpu can very well be 1.5 teraflop 8000 series gpu that lacks raw horsepower.

Pray tell, exactly what are these new rumours?
If you ask about Proelite,i did not count his replies as rumors,at least right now
For others, actually i mean every "insiders"(aegies, karak etc) new reply are rumors,if it come with info

Anyway see my edit,if you have interest

This thread, all these sources/rumours and keeping up with the latest perception Durango's performance, is crazy out of control.

Its like a friggin roller-coaster.

Silly season indeed! Lots of fun though. :)

Yeah, weird we're not getting any Orbis info lately.

Well not really, the western companies always leak most as I always point out.

Well the last one he just talk about expectations,or he don't even know what is he saying

That would be interesting see a possibility ... 8GB + 8 Cores cpu 1.6GHz + Gpu 1.5Tflops(with eSRAM,HSA etc) versus 4GB UMA "high bandwidth" + 4 Core 2.4/3.2+GHz + Gpu 1.8Tflops+...

What I find odd is that some rumors peg the neXtBox as the more powerful kit while other say the PS4 will be more powerful. BTW, aren't the game devs that are in the know indicating that the neXtBox will be more powerful than the PS4?

Okay, a reliable rumor is that Durango GPU has at least 3 sections of custom external hardware to help in gaming tasks. One said to be inside the GPU, and that "you can guess some of them easily" or something like that. Well, I cant, lol.

Fascinating! Special sauce seems to be very real.

Edit: One of the "sections of external hardware" could be the ESRAM I suppose.

Edit2: Could another be a tesselation add on or something?

Do you know the density of SRAM on a 28 nm process? Caches have additionally logic so it's hard to tell from CPU die shots. I think it's going to be pretty hard to fit any decent amount (at least 64 MB) of SRAM into a SoC. Maybe it's going to be EDRAM. Even with 64 MB of SRAM/EDRAM, I hope the main memory pool is at least ~70 GB/s, which is the bandwidth of a Radeon HD 7770. Would you consider this setup (64 MB SRAM/EDRAM and main memory at ~70 GB/s) good enough or disappointing?

More than meets the eye?

Anyway, we've been going back and forth, but atleast Bkillian has narrowed it down. All the specs that he knew about are out in the wild now, and its about deciphering which ones are real and which ones are fake...

The blabbing westerner factor, lol. Though to be fair, there's a lot of them working on Orbis too.

If all the specs for 720 are basically out there already like bkillian said, then when some devs say both are powerful, or that both should be close, then maybe what they have isn't that interesting to leak anymore.

Durango beta kits definitely seem to be out recently, DaE was right. That accounts for a lot.

I'm told the beta kits have all the final hardware in them. Which is quite early compared to 360.

360's prep to launch timetable was incredibly rushed. 720 must be pretty normal by comparison.

Oh yeah, that reminds me of the beta kit disappointment rumors.
Let's go back to underpowered talk today after yesterday's spooge fest. ;)

i remembered someone said about 384-bit bus.
with 8Gb memory that doesn't seem plausible

though if they went with 6gb the 3gb reserved for os will actually be 1gb wich would actualy make more sense

Why doesn't it make sense? I am sorry I really don't know much about memory sizes/bandwith and in this case probability/cost. Do you have some easy "math" example?
