At the end of the day, on the pc market, they need their fabs in order, they need big 10nm (super fin ? Don't remember the name) capacity to fight against amd... Even if I've to say, they pushed the 14nm process pretty far. Right now, imo, they have a fab problem, but not an architectural one...

Glenn Hinton, head architect behind Netburst and Nehalem returns to Intel from retirement. Pat Gelsinger getting CEOs spot sealed the deal for him.
Hinton worked at Intel for 35 years before retiring in 2017.

Q1 is just plain bad.

I always liked Pat G. I thought it was incredibly unfair that he was thrown under the bus for Larrabee not working out.

There was a lot more politics involved than just LRB that made him leave Intel.
Real question is why did the BoD pick BurgerKing for CEO instead of scouting Pat all these long 8 years ago.
