Not really looking for advice as I already ordered the parts .

I got:
  • 10700K for 360€
  • MSI Gaming Plus for 160€ with a 70€ discount
  • Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black for 60€
Total around 520-530€. I was really tempted to get the 5800x as there has been some stock lately but it just too expensive, only the CPU is 475€ which is almost the total cost of the upgrade.

I also have a 70€ voucher on an IT shop that I will probably spend on an M2 PCIe 3.0 drive.

It will be delivered on Tuesday so I'll do some benchmarks to see the difference in performance. The Z490 will be compatible with RL so if the gains are good and the power consumption is not too bad, may sell the 10700K while still has good value :p

Really wanted to wait a little longer but I though it was not worth it, the 5800x probably wont reduce price until end of next year and RL, although it's the first time something exciting comes from intel, seems to be like a patch to prevent further AMD dominance for a while.

I hope this 8 core becomes the i7 of 2015 and gives me 6-7 years of good gaming life. The DICE engine, AC and game engines that use well different cores + rely on a lot of streaming cut the 6600k life short. 4 threads is just not enough anymore.

edit: arrived today but I won't get the NVME drive until next week... I will probably installed it tomorrow...

edit2: changes in Cinebench

Cinebench MT

Very nice improvement without upgrading the gpu yet. I believe you're set for a while with 8 cores now. Congrats !
