AMD RyZen Threadripper 2 CPU Reviews [2018]

Looks like the new XFR clock boost could result in negative performance scaling for TR2 in some cases. There's still some fine tuning to be done on firmware and OS level for this platform, particularly for the asymmetrical NUMA operation.

Could you refer which tests shows such behavior? I don't think any of our tests showed such (games crapping on 32C doesn't count, WC isn't meant for games and includes "gaming mode" or two which disables cores because of it)
 
I really like this review :
it's really showing that the lack of bandwidth per core is killing the 2990 is most of scenarios, even non gaming ones.
 
Interestingly the problem with a lot of the problems that ThreadRipper 2990WX is having is probably windows only issue.

Switching to Linux, the performance is a lot more consistent. I wonder if this will ever be fixed by Microsoft.
