A thread to discuss and post examples of current gen real-time GI implementations. To start this thread a video from Enlighten and Ninja Theory from this GDC, running on Ps4/PC


Obviously this thread needs images to make sense so let's limit the pictures to 3 per game example max to not overload the page with images :yep2:

Alien Isolation is a given for this thread. Farcry 4/Primal perhaps?

Also....surprisingly The Division seems to be using it in some form as well afterall, but at times it also look like there are none.

So GI in the Division isn't gone after all, nice :smile:

AC: Syndicate is doing some GI as well, it has a dynamic day/night cycle but i don't know how much of it is baked

What qualifies as global illumination?

Are we talking about the use of light probes like in Crysis 3 or Ryse?

I'd say any form of dynamic indirect lighting is acceptable for the purposes of this thread. More examples from TTC
