MS revealed lately that a XB1 upgrade will happen between generation similar to PC. So much discussion has come of a XB1 modular system that allows you to upgrade it. I think they are talking this generation Cycle as next mid gen is 6-7 years away.
Now when Xb1 comes with new system I believe that old XB1 will have a path to upgrade as well. USB 3.0 does not provide the bandwidth for a GPU well modern so only other port is kinect. Kinect port is proprietary and it sends calculation back to unit . who knows the bandwidth to this port ?
