Hi, Andrew

Could you provide some clarification regarding the following question on the Intel website:
Can you, on your first day of employment, submit verification of eligibility of the legal right to work in the country or countries in which you are interested?

Does that mean "Do you currently have the right to work in the country?" or "Will you be able to obtain permission to work in the country by first day of employment?" or possibly something else entirely?

It is also not crystal clear, when the first day of employment is. Application deadline is May 30, but does that mean May 31 is the first day?

Not 100% sure but I think the latter. In this case the relevant country is Canada so visas and permissions tend to be easier to obtain, but obviously we don't want to go through the whole process if someone isn't allowed to work in Canada in the end :)

It's flexible. The most important thing is that we're looking for someone for a longer term (9+ months), not specifically when they start.

Ok, great. Thanks for a fast answer, Andrew!
If you do apply, please make it clear that you're willing to work in Canada and the amount of time you can work for (i.e. ideally 9+ months). There's a pool of candidates and sometimes it's tough to find the relevant ones (i.e. it's not always obvious that they saw the location, etc) so the clearer it is that you fit the criteria, the better :)

The second thing I did after seeing the position ad is checking the location :) Victoria seems excellent -- small city, cozy, South of Canada (so probably not extremely cold). I think it's impossible to apply for a job without looking at location, but what do I know.

I've already applied, but I edited and reuploaded my CV. Included this info at the very end under a separate section "Job Location and Duration". Is that good enough?
Intel website states the attached files shouldn't be position specific. Since I'm interested only in this position, that shouldn't matter, right?

I do apologize if I'm asking about the details too much (as I see people don't usually ask a lot -- most Industry Jobs threads have 0 responses). Since competition is definitely high, I'd like to get the details right.

Yes it's a nice place and quite temperate. Far less rain than Vancouver or Seattle too.

Yeah I don't know exactly how the system works, but I know that I see the resumes and cover letters, so if there's some specific info on there it saves me having to interact with people further, so thanks!

No issues at all, I honestly wish this was all a bit more direct instead of going through this other system. If you PM me your name I'll make sure with the HR folks that your resume and such is included in the stack that they send to me...

I just registered, so I can't PM other people
I can send to your waterloo uni e-mail listed on punkuser, your intel e-mail listed in papers, or just wait till PM rights granted.
Is e-mail alright?
