Two potential issues. Voice command translations or numbers at launch aren't going to be as high as they expected. Either that or they decided with the numbers they had it'd be spreading themselves to thin.

I'm guessing they revised their launch availability and adjusted to markets where they know they're going to sell very well. Saturate the places they can perform the best, rather than spread thin, as you said.

But that doesn't jive with the upclock unless yeilds were crap and changing the clock speed didn't really effect that either way. Lower clockspeed 100MHZ hey yeilds went up 2%, raise it 53 MHZ hey they dropped 1% type of deal.

The description of the upclock was that it didn't effect things either way. This can happen in either the good or bad yield scenario, although it most likely rules out the very bad ones.

Other factors like when the ramp for mass production started, launch date, shipping and packaging lead times, the total number of die candidates, and whether there is a limiting component besides the APU are going to matter far more than an upclock that has no significant manufacturing impact.

Yeah because even if was a hey we are going to lose 10000 units if we do this if yeilds were catastrophic it wouldn't be worth it. Though it could point to something else being an issue like ESRAM being the choke point in the yeilds and not the clock/power point. though it will be interesting even if their are yeild problems can the otherside avoid them sufficiently to exploit that or will they have the same issues.

Keep looking for a hardware reason when it may not be.
They said localization reasons, which sounds like Kinect voice input.

And if that is the case, instead of thinning out supplies with a half working Kinect, it makes sense to do what their doing.

Bah , Juve is the best team in the world :) why would u watch any other league than the one they are in !

LOL, they have some good players. Pirlo is one of my all time favs... Napoli doing good stuff in the off season, Italy could be interesting with AC Milan in transition....

Some of the dropped countries use languages from the release countries. Unless they speak with 'funny accents', localisation shouldn't be an issue.

The largest software company in the world that has had Kinect voice tech since 2010 ran out of time, but didn't realize it in May?

I don't believe the PR.

Might as well be "Cloud" availability, too.

There may be some kind of geographic reason if there are regional cloud centers, which might give a plausible scenario for Scandanavia being delayed. However, unless there's a regulatory or infrastructure barrier, the smaller nations next to Germany and France shouldn't have that problem.

I would think that accents and dialects could make a huge difference to the success rates
Accents and dialects _do_ make a huge difference, thus why there are different language DBs for American English (9 regional dialects), not to mention UK, AU, IE, etc that all get their own dialect engines.

They didn't realize this until after the May reveal? They are totally incompetent or lying.

Were they ready to launch in May? Given the circumstance where the competitor won't even commit to a launch date or region, why can't MS change their plans? You want to deride MS for being more open.
