I removed a bunch of non-games and titles with no name.

Heard some good things about cross play and AR, but need to check 'em out (Zone of Enders for Vita !). Sometimes they don't work as well as promised. :p

EDIT:
I remember Gravity Daze, Little Deviant, LittleBigPlanet, and Sound Shape look interesting.

That's quite a launch list. Fair play. I've pre-ordered mine already, just to add to the collection more than anything!!

Heh heh, I saw the Japanese stream. The flying message overlay from the Japanese chatroom gave me a huge headache !

I'm not sure that "work in progress" list is supposed to be comprehensive, or if it's supposed to be a "launch window" list. It's missing stuff we know is supposed to be in the works, like the Call of Duty game, BioShock, Assassin's Creed, etc. It may only list stuff with definitely Japanese release plans, though.

More likely than not, they are meant for Japanese audience. My guess is some of them may not make it to western regions.

Btw, are Vita games region free ?

Shuhei's keynote about Vita games:

Will probably look into Sony's AR, cross play, transfarring, RemotePlay, Near "mess" later.

Nintendo's AR and streetpass are also interesting. See if I can find time to summarize them too.

Looks like the PSVita might turn out to be a better buy than ps4 or X720, what with lower cost, better than ps3 graphics, dual analog sticks, front back touch controls, cheaper titles through PSN,freemium model etc, etc.

Oh ! And Rayman is the most cheerful game around these days, i would love to have that just for its colours and the crazy world :) !

Well, I wouldn't go that far - Vita has less than PS3 graphics, but it is close and because it is a small(ish) handheld screen with a great dotpitch and contrast it will at times look better. Vita also has more memory, but in the end it won't have more RAM avialable than the PS3 I suspect simply because a bunch of that RAM is reserved for various OS features like being able to call up the browser mid-game, party chat, etc.

But yeah. Was a big fan of the old Rayman, although it spiked in difficulty at one point causing me to drop out, and going back to the old levels with new powers wasn't always that much fun either. I don't know what multiplayer functions the Vita version will have though, as I reckon the 4 player competitive co-op is a big draw for this game.

But the graphics for this particular game are not demanding enough to hold back the Vita version vs any of the others, and as a single player game I think I'd prefer to play it on the Vita myself as well. Of course, not having to choose and having it support the cross-play features would be even nicer. :p

Going by the graphics of the launch titles of Vita ,and how far PSP's gfx have come in th eGOW games, I would say it will reach PS3 gfx someday, and considering it has to be displayed ona smaller screen, with similar-ish resolution, the games would look much sharper ! Wouldn't Resistance 3 look much better if displayed on this small a screen ! I mean, the game is gorgeous but the blur kills it all, but not on the small screen of VIta, it'll look gorgeous !

And, I have to factor in that next gen home consoles might be very costly too. I am just speculating, but with these many games, dual analog sticks and proper MP support, I might just go for Vita over the home consoles ! Who knows what the future holds though ;)" !

I really hope this thing takes off. I really like handheld gaming. The only thing that always held it back for me were the controls. The yearly energy savings alone make a device like this tempting for me.

If Sony concentrated on the Vita as the platform and the PS4 as more of an add-on that stood on it's own right but was primarily a fancy wide area docking station so you watch your films, play your games etc on the big screen, but then could just carry it all away with you. That would be cool. The box under the TV would pipe media in, ferry your money out and the concentrated experience would be in, quite literally, in your hands.

I'd be happy to replace the monolithic 'console' with a slim, streamlined gadget that was more of a portal and not the actual engine, and carry the fun with me!!

Unless you generate your own electricity, energy savings shouldn't mean much. The Gadget Show priced these consoles at about £40 a year IIRC.

^the consoles also need screens unfortunately (in my case that's another 250 - 350 Watts), and possibly a nice, meaty sound system. It all adds up.

Ys Celceta Sea of Trees: Use the PS Vita's Rear Touch Screen to Give Commands to your Allies:
http://andriasang.com/comyc4/

Here's how Falcom plans on making use of the PlayStation Vita's special hardware features in Ys Celceta Sea of Trees, as detailed by CEO Toshihiro Kondo on the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation.

Falcom will be putting the system's touch capabilities to full use. The rear touch panel can be used to issue commands to your allies. Touch is also being used for camera perspective, zooming in and out, and puzzle solving.

The Vita's advanced hardware is also benefitting the game. Character modeling is more detailed. Camera work promises to be more dynamic than that of Ys Seven. Music and environmental sound effects will be clearer, as they don't have to downgrade their samples (compared to the limitations they encountered on the PSP).

The more powerful hardware is also adding to gameplay, as the game can show more monsters simultaneously. In addition to having lots of giant beasts on the screen simultaneously, they can also have many minions surrounding giant bosses.

Kondo provided only a few hints about how the game will use the Vita's wireless capabilities.

Gravity Daze looks rad (PS Home team take note !)

SoundShapes is not in the list. It's my top Vita game now, perhaps it will show up later.

Escape Plan, Ragnarok look interesting too.

On a side note, I'm currently working on Flickball on the Vita. You can see early footage in one of the recent Sony vids.

Seeing as how I´ve been a playstation + subscriber for well over a year now, I might as well get a psp just to get all the minis that I have gathered up on the go... Probably there will also be ps+ "freebie" games for the vita. So yeah... I guess I will have to find a way to explain it to me wife, that is the tricky part.
