Image Quality and Framebuffer Analysis for Available/release build Games *Read the first post*

thats a bizzare resolution, why not just make it 720 and have some port of software 1080p upscaling.

Could be one of those games that supported two resolutions, one for 720p and one for 1080p. Uncharted 1 did the same, and had that odd 1080p resolution for easy scaling.

AlStrong,

any chance you could ask grandmaster to provide you with some additional 1080p screenshots of Virtua Tennis 4 for PS3 so you could take a look at it again or take a look at the demo yourself :D;)?

It seems to default to 1080p output, even if both 720p and 1080p are checked in XMB.

So, it actually seems like for it to output in 720p, it would have to be forced by unchecking 1080p in XMB and not the other way around, although the DF Face-Off and List of Rendering Resolutions only mention 720p.

Can you tell what's the native rendering resolution and AA when it outputs in 1080p?

Is it still 720p and just upscaling to 1080p?

Or is it anything like those:

the following front buffer resolutions are supported for hardware scaling to 1920x1080p: 960x1080 1280x1080, 1440x1080 and 1600x1080

?

Or what is it :D?

Would be appreciated if you could clarify that ;).

hm.. wonder if it's dynamic res. One shot showed a 4/5 ratio... another showed 13/16... others showed 720p no AA...

That's a pretty scary amount of compression artefacting. :p The second image does appear to be 720p with what looks like MLAA.

I couldn't find a decent quality capture anywhere and maybe that's why it looks a bit subhd to my eyes. But yeah thanks for the magic.

Anyone here who figured out the native rendering resolution and AA of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for PS3 and Xbox 360:

(according to the HUD and description below the screenshots there seem to be some screenshots from both PS3 and Xbox 360 throughout)?

for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

looks like ps3 is 1280x720, 360 sub 720.

look at the hunk closeup shot the pixel edges on the ps3 version look 1:1. 360 version looks like its being upscaled.

considering the resolution comprise wonder how the framerate compares between the two.

Any word on Jak & Dexter "sub HD" Collection? This games are really confusing, some edges looks too clean to be sHD but many others aren't 720p for sure. But I'm no expert.
