351MHz/700MHz

It seems that the rumors were true.

351/700MHz is just the actual/effective DDR memory speed, I gather. It'd make little sense for ATi to debut a PEG version of the 9600XT at lower core speeds, particularly with faster memory.

UMC thus lower clock...

forget about RV360, the frequency drop from RV350->RV380 is similar to RV250->RV280.

There hasn't been a single report of RV380 being a clocked-down version of RV360 - it is primarily different in that it has native support for the PCI-E bus. ATI would no longer have a mainstream performance part if RV380 was clocked lower than the 9600 Pro - makes no sense at all. Some web sites have already tested RV380 samples clocked at 450/700, and it's likely that the core will ship at 500 MHz like RV360.

RV370 is the low end part.

Speaking of RV370, Orton confirmed in last week's conference call that this part was being fabbed on a 0.11u process and that it would be shipping in the spring/summer timeframe. Seems like a major thrust from ATI to gain low-end market share. Have you heard anything else about this chip, Dave, other than it being a lower-clocked(?), 4-pipeline part based on RV350?

Not interested in detailed specs or anything of that nature, but from what you're aware of do you figure it should be a compelling offering for the OEM space in comparison to the FX5200?

By the way, is NVDA supposed to be sticking with the 5200 for another six months?
