Default HAPPY GEEK DAY!!!!!

I went to my local PC show today for the first time since I had me heart attack last October and I had an absolute BALL!!!!

Heck, half the vendors remembered me and wondered where the hell I'd been!

I picked up a 512Mb stick-o-PC3200 for $90, a keyboard for $7, and TWO 17" trinitron UltraScan P780 (Dell)-$110!

I'm a VERY happy geek right now, go out and support your local PC shows...there are some bloody good deals at 'em!!!

New stuff is always fun. Unless of course you can't get your hands on new stuff (cough, UT2004 DVD SE, cough).

I love upgrading, especially when it's a major overhaul and I have to rebuild the entire system.

Yeah, but this ones pretty minor. The memory took a whole 3 minutes and monitors are a joke to change. (Albeit there is a LOT of cleaning involved when you move a monitor that ain't been moved in years! DUST!!!! )

The new monitor on Bubbles looks DAMNED GOOD! Crisp as hell and lots brighter, I'm going for Blue's VistaPoint now to shock me wife when she comes home. 8)

I have a P780 and it is a wonderful monitor. Absolutely love the thing although it is nearing replacement time. It has a few scratches in the anti-glare coating and the glass is chipped in one or two spots. Frankly I am surprised it is still in as good as shape as it is after lugging it back and forth from school numerous times over the past 4 years. Now to get a flat panel...or another CRT? Too bad the resolutions are still sort of low on flat panels.

Mmmmm i'm looking to buy a new 19" LCD screen, but i'm not sure which one... the Samsung 191T (and later versions) look mighty fine, there's a Dell ( ) one which is very impressive, specs-wise (700:1 contrast!)...

Sony ones are just too sexy to be true...

Anyone with advice? I work with my PC (graphics), gaming related STUFF doesn't interest me...
