Default Sapphire to have Dual DVI radeons?

Thought this would interest a few here:

http://www20.tomshardware.com/busine...review-07.html

Quote:
With the production of PCI Express-capable graphics cards, Sapphire is equipped for the future, because PCI Express is the new graphics card standard. Because of this, ATI, instead of modifying old chips, has developed a new chip especially for PCI Express. What else is there? The RADEON 9800 and RADEON 9800SE are being offered with Dual DVI-I and VIVO. Whether 2x analog or 2x digital or combined - anything is possible with these cards! Sapphire (Hall 23, B50) is presenting its new cards based on the Radeon 9200, 9600 and 9800 at CeBIT.
Here's to hoping.

If you have a nice HDTV DVI can give the best picture quality available. Above that of component.

Thanks, I figured there was a reason I didn't know what it was yet...I'm too cheap to know what it is yet!

Default Final - friggin - ly...

I remember an nV AIB provider providing Dual DVI on a 5700 Ultra. It's about time it come out on an ATi board. It's a very nice way to differentiate yourself from other AIB's - provided you still have the DVI -> CRT convertors for the hardcore CRT guys like me.

I'd count on Asus and Gainward to do dual-DVI NV4x cards, as they did with assorted GF4 and GFFX models. Keep your eyes open for boards marked VideoSuite, Golden Sample or SilentFX.

Edit: Don't expect it on NV40 though, they only offer it on midrange cards this generation.

Good to hear. This will be the tipping point, if both nv40 and r420 are about the same.

epic

Thanks for the quote, Joe. Good to see that at least somebody wants to cater the few lucky ones.

I'm not sure a R350 is going to cut it, though, seems like a little late to the party. Still, much better than the Ti4600 I have currently, and if they actually manage to ship it (& at a decent price, say 250 Euro, tops), I'd certainly consider it.

Yeah, I'd much rather get a next-gen dual DVI, too.

You're right, looks like it's only on their 5700 Ultras. It seems Asus are the same, only on their 5200's and 5600's. Sorry for any confusion.
