Default Apples open their first store in japan - The longest line

My god, i cant believe how long the waiting line is. Dont peoples work in japan? Do they actually hope of even getting to the store before midnight or even have products left on the store's shelves? Its crazy.

Longest line i have ever seen. Seems like apples found a new market for their products, they should have realized this long ago since they dont really like big and ugly looking products like PCs with tons of wires.

Lord, there must be at least 3000 people in that line. Quicktime was only about 1/4-1/3 through the movie when the guy with the megaphone called out "You are 1000th in line". I wonder what it is they can buy in that store that they can't get online? Or perhaps it's just the "experience" they're after...

Like the way the Japanese love Nintendo, they must be loving Apple. Similar companies in certain ways.

Japan has a queuing culture. Serious. It's just that, they don't mind. Queuing up for launch events is considered... "interesting", which is as far as I can understand it.

I had a friend who camped out for 2 days to get tickets to the opening night of Star Wars, Ep. 1. Man, what a waste. I believe there was a TV special at the time with people beating that by a couple weeks.
