Default V-sync in Dets 52.16?

I wanted to benchmark some FX cards with Fraps and Dets (or ForceWare ) 52.16, but was unable to find V-sync option in DX. If my memory serves me correct it used to be under More Direct3d settings in older versions, but I was unable to find it in 52.16.

OpenGL tab has it. Am I missing something?

Thnx,

Zvekan

IIRC, the option to alter vsync in D3D is only exposed when the Coolbits reg change is enabled. Download the following file, right-click on it and select merge...ok and then ok again....check your D3D panel:

Thnx, I used Coolbits with older versions. I'll try it when I get to work. But one question, why would nVidia want to hide Vsync in D3D and have it available in OGL?

If I recall correctly... the driver cannot be WHQL certified if Vsync and/or overclocking features are "visibly" in the drivers when they are submitted....

The "lack of Vsync" ONLY applies to the Direct3D portion of the drivers (as MS has no involvement over the OpenGl driver)

It could make sense, but ATIs Catalyst are also WHQL'd and have Vsync option available straight up.

If I'm not mistaken, the Vsync option on the Cats requires the ATI Control Panel.. which is a "separate download" in some cases....

MS does their WHQL certification on ATI's drivers.. but that package (for certification) DOES NOT include the control panel... which is the case (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that)

Well this sounds like a reasonable explanation

Thnx,
