Default alternative to blocking ads

Ok, alot of people have for a while now being complaining about the ads around here. Many have turned to changing their host file to completly get rid of some of the more annoying ads.

I have already proposed adding an amazon link so as to generate revenue through commission by book sales. But how about just donating money to get an ad-free b3d.com. I understand that there would be some tweaking required for the frontpage to be ad-free. This would be a great alternative to just blocking the ads.

Anyways if the price was reasonable I would more than likely give some money to get an ad-free site.

later,
epic

I think the ad issue can easily be fixed if the adds loaded after the rest of the page. It's throughly frustrating that the entire page it downloaded but due to the fact that the ad servers are slow I can't view the page. It's up to the advertising company to deliver the add in a reasonable amount of time, I don't wait ridiculous amounts of time for ads to show up in TV shows. They show breaks, the ads play promptly and wash, rinse and repeat.

I actually look at the ads from time to time, I think I've even clicked on one or two.

I agree, loading of ads is mainly the issue.
