Default No post beep

I'm building a computer for my dad...when I hit the power button, I don't get a post beep, then the comp turns off. I've tested the RAM in another computer, the power supply and the video card. Any idea what the problem is? THX

Had the exact same thing, the cpu was working 'half'. I'll explain more, sometimes he coud boot until the ram test, then he freezed. Other times he just turned off after 2 seconds. Other cpu placed, worked perfect.

Default Got it working

Yeah, it was a small issue with the processor...I took it down to a pc shop and he wiped off the paste that came with my 3000+ and put their paste on there and it worked fine.
