Also "Texas, New Mexico quarantine falls". Definite zombie/alien infestation game.

I remember in the Move tech demos, there was an example using Move as a torch in a survival horror setting. I hope this is not like the normal zombie or "horror" games where enemies jump at the player every minute.

Especially given that we know next to nothing about the game. For all we know it could be a PSN game which consists solely of a character running around a tiny confined space in the middle of a forest so beautifully rendered that even the pores on the underside of each leaf can been seen at the microscopic level. My point is really that there's little shown in that pic to suggest that it can't be done in-engine or even in game on a PS3, PC or even iPad. |

Looking at the texture detail on the leaf again you can clearly see some pixelation on the bigger leaves on the right hand side. Also the leaves are just instanced object in that scene so i can't see how that would be particularly RAM intensive for a console game.
I've seen much more impressive and higher fidelity textures in games like gears, Red Dead Redemption or KZ3. So there's nothing shown yet indicating that specific scene it "too awesome" to be in a PS3 game. |

I just hope it's the new Quantic Dream game, I'd love to know what they are working on now.

But seeing what the game is, I don't think it's a fair assumption. I see where your coming from, but my only point is extrapolating that level of texture detail throughout the game will lead to disappointment. Not a single game this gen has replicated that level of texture detail across the expanse of the game.

Not to labour the point, but my original point was that the particular level of texture detail in question in that pic is not even high at all. So i would say that many if most games that have come out on the PS360 in recent times have displayed that level of and even better texture detail accross their entire gameworlds. I just don't think that the texture detail we can see in that pic is particularly remarkable. |

Still haven't played it, it's up there with a list of other games I have but never even started up yet. I did enjoy the demo though.
Loved Omikron and really liked Indigo Prophecy, so I'm sure I'll like Heavy Rain. Still disappointed we haven't gotten an Omikron 2 yet too |

We are talking about a relatively high texture on leaves for a game that isn't limited to just a forest. I don't think it's a coincidence that Crysis2 left the island for the console focused game I don't expect to be able to read the spines of magazines in games targeted for xb360/ps3 with only 512mb ram because the systems have to render the rest of the game world. Who knows, I could be wrong here and maybe Sony will really push streaming and fully utilize the BRD.

Yap, without any info, I'm guessing it's a Quantic Dream game as well.

Damn it! Too late.
Maybe it's a ND game? Or is this like inFamous 2 referencing other games? Maybe the U1 zombie virus spread through the whole world. |

Deus Ex human revolution is another game that has relatively high res textures on pretty much everything. I mean i could read the front page of magazines, and see the remnants of tattered images left over from torn posters. I definitely expect to see textures of that particular fidelity almost everywhere on consoles as it's simply not all that high fidelity anyway. Still it's useless speculating how high the texture quality of the entire gameworld for this game will be until we actually know more about the game world itself |

It's from Naughty Dog, apparently. Zombie apocalyptic with fungus people on the loose. Here's a link to the trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/vg...e-debut/724686

Wow Naughty Dog's engine for The Last Of Us looks good! Last edited by TEEDA; 11-Dec-2011 at 02:04. |

'HD' quality trailer ;]
http://trailers-ak.gametrailers.com/...0_3500_h32.mp4 Shadow Quality is amazing! Seriously, i'm so impressed with shadows in this trailer. Lighting is also better than in U3, still no AF though ;\ |

Dear mother of god the character models look so smooth they almost look tessellated with displacement map, unless of course it's CG.

looks insanely good. I hope that ND focuses more on "deeper" interactivity this time, the last Uncharted took a few steps too far in the "movie" direction IMHO.
Their impressive fire + water tech would be worth alot experimenting without the story taking priority every few minutes and (partially) taking away control or kickin you to the next scene. eg. containing zombies with a wall of fire which spreads and can easily trap yourself if you are not careful. Oh and did I mention it looks insanely good? It does look insanely good |

When did they have the time to make this?!
Anyways, the trailer looks really cool. Super gritty zombie/infected game I've always wanted. The girl reminded me of Ellen Paige (which is awesome). The main guy didn't sound like Nolan North. I hope he's in the game in some way. |
