Downloaded the trial and saw that I was 2nd in arcade among the B3D group.
I will probably pick it up eventually, but may get it with Gunslinger as I believe it comes free with the game.

I wonder if Move won't function with a projector, cos the camera will always see the bright spot of the projector lamp.

EDIT: BTW, i am playing Infamous 2 now, and I am totally addicted now. Its even more awesome than Infy 1 !
It's an Epson EMP-TW600 LCD Projektor. It's a couple of years old, but my friend still had a brand new spare light bulb and he even got it professionally calibrated when he bought it. It's only 720p (ideal for consoles anyway), but it has kick-ass color accuracy and great image quality in general. Could probably rival my Plasma tv if I painted the walls of my living room black. Paid 400€ for it including the new light bulb. Seemed fair enough to me.

Yesterday I hooked up my PC and played a bit of Witcher 2 and Crysis 2. It was pretty fucking rad.

After over a year since my original 360 died, picked up the 4GB slim and Reach - largely because Gow3 incoming soon. And...rather "meh" so far I have to say.

I like Halo's combat, but as of yet it's just too similar - I have a feeling I've played 4 versions of this game before, basically because I have. I understand they can't muck that much with the franchise but at this point it feels highly derivative. From reviews the last third of the game really picks up so here's hoping.

And really, this is set in the future with warping ships - can they bloody well ditch the forced static and tin-can sounding voice comms from your commander? It's bloody aggravating that I can't understand what they're saying half the time.

Totally agree on that one for every game out there. Get rid of that, it just makes things worse.

Finished my second Nightmare playthrough of Alice: MR yesterday and I highly recommend the game to anyone who wants to play something different than the majority of games that are coming out today...definitely one of the most underrated games this gen IMO.

Today I'll start Bastion which looks awesome and play the demo of Bodycount that I'm downloading right now, let's see if these guys at Codemasters truly made a spiritual successor of Black.

Honestly, I thought it was a boiler plate and mostly rather boring platformer that didn't know when enough is enough. It just kept limping on and on, and the few gameplay breaks from the platforming monotony it introduced were repeated over and over until I was positively sick of them. Imaginative visuals aside, the game felt like a 3d platformer from the pre Mario64 era. Come to think of it, I think I actually didn't just not like the game. I hated it.

I did like Alice. It had a good story, and some very creative worlds. It does drag on for far too long though.

I saw one of you play Catherine. How's that game ? It's rated 17+ for what ?

Lots of strong language, booze, sexual subject matter and some mild T&A. It's a truly weird game. Bought it because I'm just drawn to stuff like that, but unfortunately the actual game part of Catherine is completely ruining the experience for me. It's like watching a really interesting tv series, but instead of commercial breaks you get fiendishly difficult block puzzles. Unlike with commercial breaks you can't switch channels though. I'm really enjoying the presentation and all the little details (every time you empty another drink you get a bit of alcohol trivia for example), but I'm just dreading the nightmare puzzles. They are hard, no fun at all and the controls are going to kill you time and time again. Catherine would be a really cool anime, because everything that happens outside of the nightmares is really interesting and well presented. Unfortunately there is a game sandwiched in between the interesting bits.

I played the Catherine demo for X360 and I really like how they used high resolution Anime for the story telling, however the nightmare puzzles were just ok and were kind of repetitive. I would've preferred they had many different types of puzzles instead of climbing a "3D Tetris walls" which basically all look the same but with different solutions.

I liked the japanese demo a lot, though all text was in japanese to incomprehensible, but I enjoyed it a lot. But the reviewrs say it gets Demos souls like hard later on,but then a lot of reviewers love it for that ! The anime is freakentastic !!!!!

It really does get that hard. The demo is in no way shape or form representative of the level of difficulty.

How do you get over the difficulty ? In Demon's Souls, I can cheese the bosses. It looks like I have to practise a lot for the game ?

I actually don't mind the anime part. The puzzle in the trailer seems a little long, and it's an entry-level puzzle too. :-/

You try again, and again, again, and again, .... until you succeed. Hopefully. Did I mention there's limited continues? (there are mid level checkpoints, but if you screw up too often it's back to the beginning)

It's really the only reason why anyone would want to play Catherine in the first place, so you'd better damn well love the anime bits.

There are limited continues but you can build up a lot by picking up the pillows in the levels. A pillow gives you two continues, so if you are stuck at a place where you can pick up a pillow you will build them up. I had like 80 continues at one point. I played through first on normal, and yeah some levels are real hard. I played through on easy after that and found it much easier, the levels are a little different to make them easier. They also teach you different techniques between the levels if you talk to some of the sheep.

Ok, there are difficulty levels. Anyone tried easy mode ? I'm more curious about the story than the game.

EDIT: Oh wait, you did. May check it out during Christmas break.

I've played a few hours (PC version) and I'm inclined to agree, but again only a few hours. Still, I have yet to see anything that isn't highly derivative. Nice visuals, but very little inventive about the gameplay at all so far. My playing spurts with it are getting shorter and shorter.

I've been playing a lot of Dragon Quest IX on the DS. Love it, love it, love it. I don't really like JRPGs all that much, but for some reason, the DQ series hits a sweet spot for me.

And I've been playing a bit of COD:BLOPS, but honestly, I prefer playing bots over humans, since bots don't ever hurl racial epithets in prepubescent voices. If only the bot AI could handle all the game modes (come on, Timesplitters could!), this game would be perfect. I love splitscreen bot DM.

I've played a little KZ3 (which I can't make myself like half as much as I liked KZ2) and MAG, too, but I've been traveling a lot (got a wedding coming up in December, almost done forging the links for my ball and chain), so it's mostly been DQIX.

Ninja Gaiden II - Rocking those weapon master achievements =)

This game is amazing, but it could have been much more if it weren't for the internal bitchfights within Team Ninja..

Been playing R3 beta.

I asked a few more people in the chatroom and friends list. They all said they are glad someone made Catherine (Probably very different from other titles ?). One of the girl gamers recommended me to get it today.

Looks like I'll be getting Catherine and Deus Ex 3 in December.

Played and finished RUSE. A decent stab at an RTS on a console. Playable but ultimately forgettable.

Brink, which wasn't my cup of tea. At least I'm trading it in for more than I paid for it in the first place.

Now onto Deus Ex: HR.
