I finished the campaign last night. Good stuff, pretty easy. This leaves the Time Trials and Hardcore challenges, and online when that starts working properly. Hopefully the online leadetboards do still come online at some point ...

I'm stuck at the level 2-8, the Mini race through the town that's being demolished. Best I can manage is 5th, would need to finish at least 3rd to qualify.
I just seem to crash too easily on that track.

There are a surprisingly many different routes ... try to find one that leads to less crashes and learn that one. Usually with a mini type car you can follow the bikes ...

EDIT: Mylene on GAF made some vids. These are of the more exciting bits of the campaigns - if you are absolutely sure you don't want anything that you're going to encounter in the campaign to be spoilt, you may want to not watch.

Some interesting stuff going on in this video. Look at the cliff walls at 4:00 and onwards, and see the lod increase in about 4 steps from the initial jump to the landing.

Strange that it only seems to affect the texture of the cliff face, I would have expected more lod issues if it was a problem with the streaming etc.

I think its the amount of polygons. It probably stands out because it's the only complex surface, or maybe they've only lod'd certain surfaces. The question is if it is some kind of clever SPU dynamic stuff, or if it is fixed for this level.

Been playing this for 4 hours straight, mostly online which has been flawless now with in-race chat, 16 player etc, and the leaderboards are also online! Been racing against Billy Idol and Eyes' times in hardcore mode for a bit, good stuff!

Yes, they are, for now at least.

Also, patch 1.02 is up. Seems to solve a few issues, though from my experience last night a big part of the issues probably came from the client side of things.

EDIT: played a whole bunch more. Sure hope a lot of you guys get this game when it comes out, this is one of the most fun racing games out there and the 16 player online racing is flawless, with chat and lag-free (at least I haven't seen any lag whatsoever even once).

finished the campaign...great!

after starting to play Crysis 2 on my PC rig, I was astounded that playing MS3 again...its graphics did not shock me..nice looking game with nice lightning especially during evening/afternoon

Yup, something in the sunlight of MS:A reminds me of Crysis 2 everytime I see a video of the track with the NY bridge in it. Maybe they are using similar HDR implementations. Looks really really sweet , that lighting !

I had the same thing with MS2 after God of War 3, half expecting everything too look crap after that but nope, Motorstorm 2 still looked great.

Multiplayer is where it is at though for MS3, great fun and very addictive both online and off.
