Serious sam is the closest you can get to the good-old "Rambo" games where there were just you, tons of guns and huge hordes of enemies. There are tons of levels where you will kill >1k opponents even on easier settings. Also, those levels are also often huge in size and the boss enemies themselves are often big enough to fill big part of a level in some other games

Can't comment on PvP MP part much but it was pure awesomeness as co-op.

There are lots of ways to play it. If you suck just sit back with a sniper rifle and drop mortar strikes

Yeah ! I usually avoid even starting up Steam, as it might man money spent for no damn reason other than the fact that the game was so cheap !

I'm sensing the presence of an in-joke here, but I'm not entirely certain what the exact details are...

I grabbed the flag, Al was in a Banshee overhead so I told him to jump out and drive me in a Warthog to victory. Unfortunately he was directly overhead when he ejected and the banshee predictably fell on my head. Al then grabbed the flag from my lifeless body and scored it himself.

Et tu, Al?

Never mind JC2, dawn of war 2 - retribution for 7.49€ was pretty much a steal
Though bad thing is they made it from 75% to 50% off in under an hour so it won't be quite as cheap any more

JC 2 and Borderlands are terrific fun, and there are many, many of hours of gameplay in them (especially with the Borderlands DLC). They are both very atmospheric sandbox games with loads of stuff to do and tons of travelling about.

I found JC2 a little harder to get into, but once you get going, it's awesome, though eventually a little repetitive, with similar missions happening in different environments, especially once you finish the storyline and drop into Mercenary Mode.

If you're picking up either of these games cheap, they are a total bargain.

Not buying them yet, primarily because I know SC:Conviction and Mafia 2 will keep me busy for a loooong time for now. i am sure there will be another sale by then, and I'll definitely grab Borderlands then ! Just Cause 2 too !

BTW, My download of MAFIA II keeps going into "Suspended" mode after a few mins ! Can anyone help me with this Steam Issue ? Never faced it before. Conviction downloaded smoothly but everytime I come back to chk on my Mafia 2 download, it says "Suspended". Then I click on resume and it starts downloading again only to get back into the "Suspended" mode after some time.

I've never seen that issue. Did you try restarting the client?

Yes ! Restarted the whole PC too. Even now, after I posted here, it went into "Suspended" again. I restarted Steam, it said "Download Paused", I resumed only to see it automatically got paused after around 5 mins ! This time it said "Paused" , not suspended ! Weird !
