Apparently by Piranha-games.
So... well, maybe it'll be good? Regardless, I'll be in the corner listening to the MW2 soundtrack, weeping. |

This is a game that needs serious environmental destruction like Bad Company or Red Faction, and a lot of deformable objects and terrain.

Hopefully it'll be more like the FASA developed Mechwarrior which was more a simulation rather than the more arcade like MW 1, 2, and 3.
Although I suppose MW 1, 2, and 3 were more accessible. Oh hell, what am I saying. I'll take any Mechwarrior game. Heck, I'd even be quite happy with a followup to the Heavy Gear series. Regards, SB |

I'm mildly optimistic since it seems that Jordan Weisman is behind this. The pilot in the Atlas is a nub, though, to be torn apart by a Warhammer.

Oh and very cool, MW 4 (my favorite of the series) is going to be released for free. Including all expansions.
http://www.smithandtinker.com/news/m...letech-com.php Cool beans, as I don't think I played the expansions. Now just need to get a proper joystick with swivel as I don't have a joystick anymore. Regards, SB |

Also a write up at IGN.
http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/100/1002275p1.html I'm not a big 'mech' fan but I did quite enjoy MW4. My flatmate was big on WM3 but I just couldn't understand why bother with all the different shaped mechs given that he just loaded them all out basically the same anyway MW4 brought in chassis specific restrictions that meant you had to decide chassis based on task. I had some good times online with my short range equipped Uziel tearing up the big boys playing laser sniper

Sounds promising. And definitely sounds like they are following the MW4 path of more accurate simulation versus more arcady and accessible.
But what's with everyone wanting to do a reboot now days? That makes me shudder. So far there hasn't (in my eyes) been a single successful reboot of a franchise. Why not just come up with a BLEEPING new name if you are going to pervert the franchise (Fallout, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc.) Sigh. Well at least it doesn't sound like they are going to ruin this franchise at least. Speaking of ressurecting the dead. I'd love to see the REALLY old Battletech games on PC revived. The ones that were more RPG + Strategy like the tabletop version. Regards, SB |
