0.7 seconds of gameplay video and the internet exploded. It can only get worse from here.

Copied my post from the console thread:

Maybe that's the MLAA variant? :s Or maybe he meant super sampling (FSAA). Guess we'll know when the slides get released.

I would like to see longer footage, but based on that I want to say that finally a game that looks like it's 2011.

They could still provide an option for real AA, and the post-process stuff could work well for those with lower end hardware.

I'm curious to learn more about SRAA. If it has access to higher resolution depth and normal buffers then it has more information than traditional MSAA hence potentially higher quality. Since you're not storing MSAA samples memory usage and bandwidth requirements should be lower but with a higher shading cost. Am I off base here?

I think it's good to see that DICE is putting a lot of weight in the technology, even though most would probably be used for the ps3.

Hello, regarding audio in bf3
Reading the interview in this article. I get confused, the audio environment effect is calculated by engine or its just use a lot of baked audio then mixed ingame. thanks Last edited by orangpelupa; 02-Mar-2011 at 15:17. |

Is it just me, or does this blow all of the competition away?
Have we seen anything else that even comes close to the stuff Battlefield 3 is pushing? |

Looks incredible! I'll withhold judgement on whether its a Crysis 2 beater until I've played the single player though. Seems at least on a par with Crysis 2 multiplayer though.

D11 only - LOVE IT! Now if only every other developer would follow this extremely sensible lead. It's not like it's stopping them developing the game on the 360 and PS3.
Why the hell would Crytek support DX9 at all? I see almost no logic in it.

We discussed that at length in the Crysis 2 thread starting around page 25. In short, supporting DX9 makes no sense at all.

I want BF3 so much. What I didn't like in that otherwise awesome trailer was the way they masked profanity in the script. A loud noise instead of letting us hear the word fuck? Are you fucking kidding me? Also, they missed a fuck at the end of the trailer.

Anyone else notice the authenticity of the models? Everything from sunglasses dangling from a goggle's strap, to mag pulls adorning magazines. This is like the first time I saw "Saving Private Ryan" and the gritty authentic feeling of war struck me.
